NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAY
Each year our DA Visual Art students are given the opportunity
to travel to NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAYS at accredited
colleges and universities around the country through NPDA
(National Portfolio Day Association). With teacher and
parent chaperones, our students will travel, tour Universities,
meet with college representatives, receive helpful critiques
on their portfolios, and get started on the journey of
exploring higher education opportunities. They will even
receive a really cool souvenier T-shirt!
December 5-7, 2008 : MICA AND CORCORAN,
Washington, D.C.
OPEN TO ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS!
This will be an intensive two night, three day trip, and
a fabulous opportunity to share your art on a college
level.
Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, tour MICA (Maryland
Institute College of Art), spend the evening in Baltimores
Inner Harbour.
Saturday, we travel to Washington, D.C. to the
Corcoran College of Art & Design for the National
Portfolio Day. A full day of Portfolio reviews, meeting
with University representatives, and campus tours
An evening of fun at The National Gallery Of Art
Sculpture Garden, an outdoor venue for art appreciation
and outdoor ice skating!
Sunday is a full day of Museums and Gallery tours,
with an afternoon flight home to Jacksonville.
Cost: $450 includes air transportation, bus transportation
and hotels.
January 24-25, 2009: Ringling School
Of Art and Design, Sarasota, FL
OPEN TO SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS!
This is a two day, one night bus trip to Sarasota Florida.
Students will receive helpful critiques on their portfolios,
and get started on the journey of exploring higher education
opportunities.
Saturday morning leave from DA on a chartered bus,
travel to Sarasota and our hotel. Afternoon tour of the
Ringling Museum and Art Gallery followed by tour of Ringling
School of Art and Design, as well as dinner on campus
and maybe even a college level drawing class!
Sunday is spent at the Ringling School of Art and
Design for National Portfolio Day. An intensive day of
meeting with college representatives and discussing portfolios.
Cost: $150 includes bus transportation, hotel and all
University expenses.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR SARASOTA TRIP:
November 1 with a $50 deposit.
