Alyce Walcavich
Photography
Mrs. Walcavich has an MFA in studio art from
Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught at
VCU, College of William and Mary, Green Run
High School and the Governor’s Magnet School in
Norfolk Virginia. She has been teaching photography
here at DA since 1991. Mrs. Walcavich exhibits
regularly in local shows and at the present has work
hanging in the Schultz center. |

Hogue, drawing / painting
Hillary Hogue received her Master of Fine Arts
from the Maryland Institute College of Art in
Baltimore, Maryland. She has exhibited in such prestigious galleries as Draper
Studios, Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art and The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.

PRINTMAKING |

Barry E. Wilson , artist / printmaker
Barry Wilson is a 1989 MFA graduate of Florida State University. Now
an instructor at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville,
Wilson has also worked with the Jacksonville Art Museum, the Duval County
public schools, and served as an Assistant Professor at Jacksonville
University. He has over 90 shows to his credit, 20 of which are solo
exhibitions. His work can be found in a number of collections including
the City of Orlando, Delta Airlines, the Rajasthan School of Art in
India and the Superstock Corporation of France.

Materials Needed:
A take home project charge of $30.00 will be assessed
for this course. Students will need 8.5 x 11" hardbound
sketchbooks, drawing pencils (especially 2B, 4B and 6B).
Color markers will be needed for designing sketchbook
pages as well as glue sticks, erasers and paintbrushes.
A camera will be needed to document steps involved in
printmaking processes.

SCULPTURE |

Khanh Tran, sculpture
Khanh Tran has the distinction of not only being a gifted artist and instructor, he is also a graduate of the DA Visual Art Department. Tran earned his BFA
from the Maryland Institute College of Art where he studied
sculpture. In addition to sculpture Tran explored the practical side
of his art by working as a builder of custom cabinetry prior to
joining the DA faculty |
Materials Needed:
Sculpture II
Students will need:
1) Sketchbook. must be hardbound 81/2 x 11.
2) Styrofoam egg carton to hold your acrylic paints.
3) Any plastic garbage bag with a twist tie. 13 gal or
more.
4) Small plastic container with lid. Ex: A butter or cream
tub
5) A shoebox with a lid, large enough to hold the other
items.
6) Two wood chisels - 1" and 1/4"
* Some projects this year may call for
the use of special materials which will have to be purchased
by the student. Details available from Mr. Tran.
